Bhubaneswar (Orissa) [India], July 22 (ANI): Odisha Minister and BJP leader Suresh Pujari said the party has resolved to build a new Odisha in the coming 12 years.
Giving details of the BJP State Executive Committee meeting in Puri that took place in Puri, the Odisha minister said, “The meeting resolved to express gratitude to PM Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda. Having said that, we also resolve to work 24×7 for the development of the state and its people… We resolve to build a new Odisha in the coming 12 years.”
This was the first state executive meeting that took place in Puri after the general elections 2024.
“Yesterday, the BJP had its first extended state executive meeting after the general elections of 2024. There were two resolutions in the meeting. The first resolution was adopted, expressing gratitude to the people of Odisha for reposing faith in the BJP and helping it form the government for the first time alone in Odisha,” he further said.
The meeting was addressed by BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda on July 19 and emphasised the party’s commitment to serve the Adivasi community.
During the meeting, the Union Minister congratulated the party workers for the results of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and said, “I would like to congratulate each party member of BJP Odisha. Thank you very much for putting in all your strength to make the lotus bloom in Odisha. You have geared up to serve the people of Odisha and will leave no stone unturned in taking the people of Odisha forward, and Lord Jagannath will give you blessings… We will serve the people of Odisha.”
He further said, “The Adivasi brothers also gave their blessings to BJP and I want to assure you that the BJP will leave no stone unturned in your service and will bring you forward in the mainstream.”
Notably, in the 18th Lok Sabha elections, the Biju Janata Dal faced a significant setback, failing to secure any of the 21 seats, while the BJP won 20 seats and Congress managed to win one seat. In the state assembly elections, the BJD won 51 out of 147 seats, while the BJP secured a majority by winning 78 seats. The Biju Janata Dala, which has ruled Odisha since 1997, lost to the BJP, breaking the 24-year-old reign of Naveen Patnaik as the Chief Minister. (ANI)
