Patna (Bihar) [India], November 9 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Bihar chief Dilip Jaiswal expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying that due to their guarantee and work done, people “have made up their minds” that an NDA government will be formed with a two-thirds majority in Bihar.
“The way voters and the general public are inclined towards the NDA. The voters have made up their minds that the NDA government will be formed in Bihar with a two-thirds majority… For this, relying on the Prime Minister’s guarantee and faith in Nitish Kumar’s development, the people are going to form the NDA government with a heavy majority,” Jaiswal told ANI on Saturday.
Further criticising the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) “jungle raj” period, the BJP state chief reminded people of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s appeal to the voters.
“The Home Minister has also requested that jungle raj should not return again, and that Bihar should fulfil the dream of a developed Bihar,” he said.
Earlier, Jaiswal had remarked that the people of Bihar are celebrating the ongoing Assembly elections like a festival, adding that the ground-level enthusiasm among voters shows overwhelming support for the NDA.
“Bihar is celebrating this election as a festival. PM Modi’s development efforts are visible on the ground; people want the NDA government again in Bihar. We are receiving positive responses from all corners. We are confident of securing victory with a clear majority. Those who defame Biharis will not be spared, the people will respond to them through the power of their vote…” said Jaiswal while speaking to reporters in Katihar.
The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections concluded peacefully on Thursday, recording a voter turnout of 65.08 per cent, the highest-ever in the state’s assembly election history. Voting was conducted across 121 constituencies in 18 districts, with more than 3.75 crore eligible voters exercising their franchise.
The second phase of polling for 122 seats is scheduled for November 11, while the counting of votes will take place on November 14. (ANI)
