Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 5 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday took a dig at Congress over its election manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, saying the concept of ‘nyay’ does not suit the party.
He accused the Congress of promoting family rule and alleged that it has done injustice to farmers, the poor, youth, and labourers.
“Congress has given the name of its manifesto ‘Nyay Patra’. A party that is sitting on the mountain of injustice has always done injustice to farmers, poor, youth, and labourers, hence the word ‘justice’ does not suit them…They cannot get out of their family; from senior Congress leaders to everyone in the INDI alliance, they cannot tolerate the participation of those who do not belong to their families,” Yadav told ANI.
He said of 29 parliamentary seats in the state, the Congress has fielded only one woman while the BJP has fielded six women candidates.
He said money for the poor, farmers and labourers did not reach them under Congress rule and referred to remarks of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi that of the one rupee sent by the Centre, only 15 paise reached the ground.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the entire money is reaching the concerned beneficiaries. It is clear election promises are a ritual of Congress. Congress is fighting a losing battle.”
Stating that the state is “Modimay”, he said the BJP-led alliance will get over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
The Congress party released its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi on Friday.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and other leaders were present.
The party’s election manifesto focuses on ‘Paanch Nyay’ or five pillars of justice, including ‘Yuva Nyay’, ‘Naari Nyay’, ‘Kisaan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ as well as the guarantees that includes a constitutional amendment bill to raise the 50 per cent cap on reservations for SC, ST and OBC.
Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held in the first four phases of the total seven phases dated April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13. (ANI)
