Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], July 29 (ANI): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that education and health are the priorities of his government and he wants to revolutionise the health services in Punjab.
“58 ambulances equipped with the latest technology and equipment have been provided to the Health Department of Punjab. Education and health are our priorities. A total of 325 ambulances are giving free services in Punjab. We want to bring a revolution in the health services of Punjab. More than 850 Aam Aadmi clinics have been opened in Punjab and almost 1.75 lakh people have availed its benefits,” CM Mann said.
Terming Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) as a gamechanger in imparting primary healthcare facilities to the people of Punjab, state Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Thursday said the government is now focusing on further strengthening the tertiary and secondary level healthcare facilities in Punjab.
“We have digitised Primary healthcare sector in Punjab. We get data relating to water borne and communicable diseases even from far flung rural areas without any delay with the advancement of IT implementations that helps us in regular monitoring and taking appropriate steps. Now we are chalking out for further strengthening the Tertiary and secondary health services,” he said.
Punjab Health Minister said that the Farishtey scheme and Sadak Surakhiya Force (SSF) recently launched by the Punjab Government has been playing a pivotal role in saving valuable lives of the people injured in Road accidents. Punjab has witnessed at least 26 per cent decrease in road accident deaths, he added. (ANI)
