Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], August 13 (ANI): Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in the state, full dress rehearsals took place for the state-level parade in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Speaking to ANI, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi said that special arrangements have been made in the state for security in both Maoist-affected areas and normal areas.
“We have made elaborate security arrangements in the state for the Independence Day celebrations. There will be a district and state-level parade. In the Naxal-affected areas, we have alerted our security forces and police forces in the sensitive areas,” the DGP said.
He added that 58 contingents would be participating in the parade.
“At the state-level parade, we have made security arrangements. The Chief Minister of Odisha will be hoisting the national flag at the state-level parade. A total of 58 contingents are participating in the parade,” Sarangi said.
Earlier, on August 12, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CM Pravati Parida and other leaders launched the Har Ghar Tiranga signature campaign at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and Minister of Revenue and Disaster Suresh Pujari were also present at the event.
Speaking to ANI, Deputy CM Pravati Parida said that the campaign aims to encourage every household in Odisha to hoist the national flag, the Tiranga, as a symbol of pride and loyalty to the country and stated that the initiative will run in every district in Odisha under the supervision of the collector and every school and college to organise the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative.
“The “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative, launched by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, is a commendable effort to promote patriotism and national unity. The programme aims to encourage every household in Odisha to hoist the national flag, the Tiranga, as a symbol of pride and loyalty to the country. Tomorrow, this campaign will run in every district under the supervision of the collector and every school and college will organise the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. In many places in Odisha, Tiranga rallies are also being organised,” she said. (ANI)
