Met office issues very heavy rainfall alert for parts of Madhya Pradesh – World News Network

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 18 (ANI): The Meteorological Office on Thursday issued a very heavy rainfall alert in some parts of Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
The regional meteorologist has predicted that very heavy rainfall can be recorded from 115mm to 204 mm at six places in the state which include Sehore, Rajgarh, Agar Malwa, Sheopur Kalan and Morena.
“A trough line is passing through Kota-Sagar-Pendra region, as a result of which there is a possibility of good rainfall in southern Madhya Pradesh. If we see the rainfall data received in the last 24 hours, it shows that Sehore and Pachmarhi recorded 90 mm rainfall. While if we talk about the next 24 hours then, an alert for very heavy rain has been issued for six places which include Sehore, Rajgarh, Agar Malwa, Sheopur Kalan and Morena where rainfall can be recorded from 115 mm to 204 mm,” B S Yadav, Meteorologist, IMD Bhopal.
Besides, there is an alert for heavy rainfall in seven districts in the state as well where rainfall can be observed from 64 mm to 115 mm, he added.
“If we talk about Northern and NorthEastern Madhya Pradesh, the temperature has increased there. Chhatarpur’s Bijawar recorded the maximum temperature of 39 degrees in the last 24 hours. There will be a lack of rainfall in the northern region, but in southern Madhya Pradesh there will be good rainfall,” Meteorologist Yadav said.
Furthermore, there is a possibility of good rainfall in Bhopal in the afternoon and evening hours, he added.
According to the Met office, moderate thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur over Bhind, Morena, Gwalior region in the forenoon hours.
On the other hand, light thunderstorms with lightning may occur over Narmadapuram, Pachmarhi, Betul, Chhindwara, Damoh, Tikamgarh, North Chhatarpur, North Panna, Shivpuri, Sheopur-kalan, Datia, Niwari/ Orchha and Rewa in the afternoon hours. (ANI)
