Kohima (Nagaland) [India], August 19 (ANI): The Indian Army organised events at Rupai, Phillobari, Dirak, Makum and Laipuli Army camps in Tinsukia district of Assam and Bordumsa Army camp in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, celebrating the Raksha Bandhan, a symbol of bonding among brothers and sisters, with the locals.
The event was attended by girls from various schools, members of Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Mahila Sammelan, Marwadi Mahila Pragati Sanstha, representatives of Brahmakumaris Ishyariya College and soldiers of the Indian Army.

During the ceremony, the ladies tied Rakhis on the wrists of the soldiers symbolising a bond of mutual respect and recognition for their duty. The celebration of Rakshabandhan with the Indian Army is a testament to the deep bond between the citizens and soldiers, highlighting the unwavering trust and respect that exists within the nation. This event served as a reminder of the unity and strength that characterise the Defence Forces of India and the communities they protect.

Earlier today, celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan, women tied Rakhi to Indian army personnel in Soni Village along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Women called the soldiers their brothers and showed gratitude towards them for protecting the borders. In return, the soldiers pledge to protect and safeguard the residents from any harm.
Raksha Bandhan is a traditional Hindu festival dedicated to the love and bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie Rakhi around their brother’s wrists. In return, brothers offer gifts as a symbol of love and care for their sisters.
Border Security Force (BSF) jawans posted at the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab’s Amritsar, celebrated the festival with women and children.
On this occasion, women and children tied Rakhis and offered sweets to the personnel. (ANI)
